Notes
Sometime ago, Scottish Producer, Cranko Pop approached us asking for a dark sample to add to a track. Working at a ponderous rate, we took the track away and sat in various bars listening to it on repeat until words were beaten out for it.
As such, Cranko Pop showed remarkable patience and faith for the amount of time this took.
A piece on "An Gorta Mór" or The Great Famine of Ireland 1845 - 1852 came from these sessions.
In a desire to make sure the words were as period correct as possible, we contacted Prof. Christopher Morash (Seamus Heaney Professor of Irish Writing, Head of School, Trinity College, Dublin). Prof. Morash very kindly agreed to edit and proof the piece.
A little later Prof. Morash asked if it would be possible to get a copy for a keynote lecture he was delivering at:
The Great Famine and its Impacts: Visual and Material Culture conference held Maynooth University, Ireland, 14-16 March 2016.
After a recording process that resembled the film Clockwise, we got a copy to Prof. Morash at close to the eleventy hour and to our delight, he used the entire track in the keynote.
That version of the track was titled Professor Morash's Crows edit.
Other versions followed and words were left over, but we decided to get a small thing together while we worked on the other larger thing. So to speak. As there was a chance if we didn't, neither thing would ever see the light beyond the curtain.

That's right. I said, "I ain't givin' you no tree-fitty, you goddamn Loch Ness Monster! Get your own goddamn money!"
I gave him a dollar.
Well, of course he's not gonna go away, Mary! You give him a dollar, he's gonna assume you got more!
