Note: All members of the Schola Cantorum were young
men studying for the priesthood. The director, Rev. Henry
Waraska, was associated with the group since 1938 when he
was a member of the ensemble. In 1941, he became its
conductor. A specialist in Polish hymnology, Rev. Waraksa
studied at the Detroit Institute of Fine Arts, at the Piux X
School of Liturgical Music in New York, and he served as
teacher of harmony and choral director of the Palestrina
Institute of Music in Detroit. His fame as conductor of the
Schola Cantorum is international.
