Notes
NEU! '86 was produced, recorded, mixed, played, composed, programmed 'etc. from Okt. '85 until April '86 in Grundfunk-Studio Düsseldorf, Dingerland-Lilienthal Studio Düsseldorf, Michael Rother's Sterntaler Studio Forst.
Basic recordings for tracks 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 engineered in Grundfunk Studio, Düsseldorf, in October and November 1985.
NEU! 86 was reworked by Michael Rother with original master and multi-track tapes from July until December 2009.
Mastering by Tom Meyer, Master & Servant, Hamburg, January 2010.
To Klaus, with respect and gratitude for the inspiration he gave me and for his unique artistic contributions to NEU! (Michael Rother).
All titles P+C 2010 Dinger/Rother for Grönland Records.
Housed in a cardbox box, which is basically a CD sized replica of the NEU! vinyl box.
CD and DVD are housed in cardboard sleeves; the DVD sleeve is the same design as the first NEU! album and the vinyl box set.
Also in the box is a folded print with the covers of all NEU! releases and some release information on the vinyl box set; it's the same sheet that is included in the actual vinyl box set, but without the download code on the back.
The DVD contains:
6 band photos; 3 text files ("Quotes on NEU!", "History of NEU!", "The Yin + Yang of NEU! Musik by Stephen Iliffe"); 4 videos ("NEU! Interview with Albert Koch 2000", "NEU! Interview with Andy Gill 2000", "Herbert Grönemeyer on NEU! 2000", "NEU! '86 Grundfunk Studio" [outtakes from the NEU! '86 recording sessions]).
