Re-released expanded edition of the original soundtrack album to coincide with cinematic re-release of original Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions. Contains previously unreleased music.
32-Page booklet including extensive liner notes, photographs and a recording log for the Star Wars scoring sessions.
Track 1.13b is hidden (although stated and explained on liner notes), starting at minute 5:00 of track 1.13, after 2 minutes of silence. It consists of five recorded takes of the "Main Title", presented consecutively with slate numbers and incidental noise; they were takes 16 through 20 of the original recording sessions. Track 1.02 is actually an edited version using portions from takes 18, 19 and 20. The total duration of track 1.13 (called "Archival Bonus Track") is 17:00.
