The film itself is based on the play "Fando y Lis" by Spanish Theatre of the Absurd author Fernando Arrabal. The sample starting at 7:47 of the same song comes from the Swedish film "Det sjunde inseglet" ("The Seventh Seal") by Ingmar Bergman.
