Philip Brett's sleeve note is printed on back cover alongside translations into French by J. Barnabé, into German by Gerd Uekermann, and into Italian by Fabio Perselli. A detailed insert gives English texts and translations into German and French only. The poems in all three song-cycles are translated into French by N. Lesieur, those in the Nocturne and the Donne Holy Sonnets into German by Uekermann. All these translations are attached to the general Decca copyright date of 1986. For the Burns cycle Decca's insert utilizes early nineteenth-century published translations into German.
